Turisas: : reveals cover artwork for upcoming album, 'Turisas2013'

Get ready for TURISAS to paint your town red and black again! The band has now revealed the first details about their upcoming album: Turisas2013 is scheduled to be released on September 3rd in North America (August 26th in Europe) via Century Media Records. The album was produced yet again by vocalist Mathias Nyg�rd, and the majority of the album was recorded by Mathias Nyg�rd and guitarist Jussi Wickstr�m in a remote house outside of Helsinki that served as the Turisas2013 command center and headquarters. Additional recordings were done in 3 other studios: drums at Atomic Spa Studio (Helsinki), orchestral recordings at 5 by 5 Studio (Helsinki), and most of the vocals and additional acoustic elements at Sound Supreme Studio (H�meenlinna), where TURISAS also recorded The Varangian Way and Stand Up And Fight. With Turisas2013, the band deliberately aimed for a more organic sound. Mathias "Warlord" Nyg�rd further comments: "When it comes to the production it's just the opposite of the polished and massive 'Stand Up And Fight'. It's raw and dry and in your face, but still maintaining that TURISAS-largeness. People attest to us that we are a great live band and we wanted the album to be based more around that than orchestral massiveness. It's our most varied record to date and even if some of the songs sound very different, I think the common thread is that every single one has a lot of energy to it." Watain: : reveals album artwork, track-listing for 'The Wild Hunt'

Sweden's most notorious metal extremists, WATAIN, have revealed the album cover artwork and track-listing for their fifth studio album, The Wild Hunt. Executed in oil and mixed materials, the cover of The Wild Hunt was done by Zbigniew M Bielak, the very same artist who was responsible for the Lawless Darkness artwork. The piece depicts one of the inmost shrines of WATAIN's temple. As on every classic still life, each object has a significant meaning, while each song of the album is also connected to an object. The Wild Hunt will be released on August 19th in Europe and August 20th in North America by His Master's Noise, via Century Media Records. Israel's ORPHANED LAND has now launched a trailer for the band's upcoming documentary that focuses on the genesis and recording of their new album, All Is One. Due out June 24th in Europe and June 25th in North America via Century Media Records, the limited edition version of All Is One will contain the full documentary, in addition to a very special bonus DVD with some exclusive music clips. All Is One was mixed by Jens Bogren (KREATOR, AMON AMARTH, JAMES LABRIE, DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, OPETH) and was recorded in three different countries: Israel, Turkey and Sweden. Ironically, these countries are Jewish, Muslim and Christian respectively, which strengthens the ORPHANED LAND message of unity through music. Over 40 musicians were used to flesh out the sound of All Is One, including 25 choir singers and eight classical violin, viola and cello players from Turkey.
