Finntroll: : announce "Blodsvept Over Europe Tour 2013"

The trolls of Nordic folklore are believed to be dirty creatures of enormous strength and appetite. Their grotesque physique grants them a comic element, although the humour tends to be on the grim side as these nocturne beings hunger for human flesh. Unsurprisingly, this has earned them a rather bad reputation. All things considered, FINNTROLL are the perfect embodiment of all aforementioned sentiments - although one might want to replace the hunger for human meat with an unquenchable thirst for booze. With their sixth full-length "Blodsvept" that came out a few weeks ago in March 2013 through Century Media Records, FINNTROLL returned to the fierce harshness of their blackened origins without giving up the perfect balance between darkened metal ferocity and melodic elements inspired by folk music from Finland and far beyond. In the words of the US Decibel magazine: "From Dick Dale-infused death'n'roll, amped-up infernal Big Band swing and raucous, chugged-out fe-fi-fo-fum stomps to unadulterated power metal, Mr. Bungle-esque carnival weirdness and something akin to the Pogues in a methamphetamine-fueled jam session with In Flames." Or like the British tabloid newspaper The Sun wrote: "If Mordor had a premier comedy club, Finntroll would be the resident band." After a handful of exclusive release shows in May, FINNTROLL are now proud to announce a full length tour to spread blood over Europe. Expect a spectacular show with old and new classics. Their friends TYR from the Faroe Islands and SKALM�LD from Iceland will support them for nights you will never forget. An US tour will follow in November. Thirteen albums into PARADISE LOST's 25 year career, namedropping is pointless. The only band they can and should be held up against for comparison and consideration is PARADISE LOST. With a career dating back to 1988, and their official recording debut in 1990 (Lost Paradise), the band has been riding and rollercoaster of highs and lows. Guitarist Aaron Aedy remembers the early days: "I remember our first rehearsal at Studio X in the Dean Clough complex of Halifax, it was Saturday March 26th between the hours of one and four pm. We had a few ideas flying around and managed to write our first opus 'Blood-filled-eyes' and start our 2nd 'Plains of Desolation', I can only describe these songs as unique.Afterwards we all went to the pub after to celebrate. Three and a half months later we were playing live, supporting Acid Reign and Re-Animator at the legendary Frog and Toad Night Club in Bradford. We had a 30 minute slot and only 15 minutes of music so we played one song twice, attempted a Sodom cover we hadn't even learned and Nick [Holmes, vocals] did his stand up for the rest of it." Over their following career, PARADISE LOST have not only created and defined genres and styles, but almost immediately transcended them. From the crawling, harrowing doom of their 1990 debut 'Lost Paradise', to the electronic flourishes prevalent in 1997's 'One Second', 1999's 'Host' and 2007's comeback to the heavier side of metal "In Requiem" and the latest opus "Tragic Idol" in 2012, their sound has continued to evolve vastly, but haunting melody and dark rock power has remained at the very core of their identity. In 1991 the band released 'Gothic', not so much an album title as the definition for an entire genre, while the influence 1995's huge-selling masterpiece 'Draconian Times' - the missing link between Metallica and the Sisters of Mercy - echoes loudly in today's scene, with the likes of Cradle of Filth, Nightwish and HIM owing a huge debt to their knack for injecting heavy rock with their trademark dark sheen. Now it's time to celebrate 25 years of glamour and gloom with a very special show at the Metal Hammer Gloden Gods Awards that will be held on June 17 at London's esteemed Indigo2 venue (headlined by that other British legend called Motorhead). Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of the legendary Seattle metal band SANCTUARY. In 2010, four of the founding members, Warrel Dane, Jim Sheppard, Lenny Rutledge and Dave Budbill, came together to for a few select reunion performances. At first, it was just going to be a handful of shows, but the response and chemistry on stage was so overwhelming, the guys changed their minds. Now, some 20 years after they left off, Sanctuary will continue with their unique mix of US power metal, hard rock and progressive elements and begin work on a new LP. To complete the line-up, Brad Hull (Forced Entry) will be filling in for former guitar player Sean Blosi. A late 2013 release is planned. Comments the band: Warrel Dane: "Having been with Century Media since 1995 with Nevermore it was a very comfortable decision for Sanctuary to sign with them.
