Turisas: : Check out the cover for their upcoming album "Turisas2013", new tour dates announced

Get ready for TURISAS to paint your town red and black again! On the day of their return to the renowned Download Festival in the UK the band is revealing first details of their upcoming album: "Turisas2013" is scheduled for a release August 21 in Finland, August 26 in Europe while UK will follow September 2 and North America September 3. Keep your eyes peeled for the exact dates though! Yet again the album was produced by vocalist Mathias Nyg�rd and the majority of the album recorded by Nyg�rd and guitarist Jussi Wickstr�m in a remote house outside of Helsinki that worked as the "Turisas2013" command centre and head quarter. Additional recordings were done in 3 other studios: the drums at Atomic Spa Studio and orchestral recordings at 5 by 5 Studio, both in Helsinki. A lot of vocals and numerous additional elements were tracked at Sound Supreme Studio in H�meenlinna where TURISAS also recorded "The Varangian Way" and "Stand Up And Fight". With "Turisas2013" the band deliberately aimed for a more organic sound, Mathias "Warlord" Nyg�rd further comments: "When it comes to the production it's just the opposite of the polished and massive 'Stand Up And Fight'. It's raw and dry and in your face, but still maintaining that TURISAS-largeness. People attest us that we are a great live band and we wanted the album to be based more around that than orchestral massiveness. It's our most varied record to date and even if some of the songs sound very different, I think the common thread is that every single one has a lot of energy to it." The mix and mastering was done in London at Orgone Studios with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano who previously worked with Ghost, Cathedral, Primodial and Ulver, just to name a few. While the band will be playing selected festivals during the summer season the release of "Turisas2013" will be supported by extensive European: After joining the Heidenfest 2013 they will play their own UK headlining run. Sweden's most notorious metal extremists, WATAIN, reveal the album cover artwork and tracklist of their fifth studio album. Executed in oil and mixed materials, the cover of "The Wild Hunt" was done by Zbigniew M Bielak, the very same artist who was responsible for the "Lawless Darkness" artwork. The piece depicts one of the inmost shrines of WATAIN's temple. As on every classic still life, each object has a significant meaning, while each song of the album is also connected to an object. As previously announced, PARADISE LOST will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a very special show at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards that will be held on June 17 at London's esteemed Indigo2 venue (headlined by the other British legends Motorhead). Los Angeles based experimental-heavy-rock band IWRESTLEDABEARONCE have announced they will release their highly anticipated, third studio album " Late For Nothing", on August 12th in Europe via Century Media Records. "Late For Nothing" was self-produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band's guitarist/programmer Steven Bradley at the band's home studio in Los Angeles. It also marks IWABO's first record with their fiery new singer Courtney LaPlante who joined the band with only a day's notice during last summer's Vans Warped Tour. Newly recharged with the addition of LaPlante, Bradley and cohorts John Ganey (guitar/ programming), Mike "Rickshaw" Martin (bass) and Mikey Montgomery (drums) are set to keep their fans guessing with "Late For Nothing". While the band's signature, avant-garde style is well intact on the new album; their style has progressed immensely. By far their boldest and most accessible release to date "Late For Nothing" rips and roars with blunt force intensity, incorporating their brain joggling breakdowns with a unique blend of electronics, jazzed-out time signatures and break neck riffage. "The entire album came together as a result of us wanting to do something different," affirms Bradley. "We didn't want to make another weird IWABO album or whatever people were expecting. We set out to make something different and better than anything we've ever released. It's a more evolved version of the band. We explored new styles and genres as well-especially in terms of the more spacey, epic, and beautiful parts. It's got the most melodic moments of our career as well as the heaviest." Thanatos: : "Angelic Encounters" re-released on CD and LP

After the re-release of THANATOS' two classic albums "Emerging From The Netherworld" and "Realm Of Ecstasy" in autumn 2012 it is now time to present you the band's third album "Angelic Encounters". Released back in 2000, this album shows a bigger picture of THANATOS' abilities of combining excellent musical skills with complex yet straight-forward songs that perfectly blend the ferocity of riff-oriented thrash metal with the sheer brutality of death metal. The sound on this re-release has been remastered by Dan Swan�.
