Guitar mastermind JEFF LOOMIS has teamed up with GUITARWORLD.com to premiere his newest song "Speak Of Nothing." Featuring vocals from Joe Nurre, the track will be included on the special Tour Edition of 'PLAINS OF OBLIVION' which will be out on April 16, 2013 via Century Media Records. In support of his upcoming dates with Soilwork, the 'PLAINS OF OBLIVION - TOUR EDITION' features three bonus tracks, in addition to the original 'PLAINS OF OBLIVION' disc that was released earlier this year. Jeff Loomis: : Announces NAMM Appearances; Performing at Schechter Guitars' NAMM 2013 Party

Ex-Nevermore guitar prodigy JEFF LOOMIS has announced a number of appearances to be held at this year's NAMM conference. His appearance schedule is below, and he will also be performing at Schechter Guitars' NAMM 2013 Party along with Exodus, Prong and former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland (Ohm, Ohmprey). JEFF LOOMIS will be performing with his band consisting of Travis Montgomery on guitar, Matt De Luca on bass and Anup Sastry on drums. The event will take place at The Grove of Anaheim on January 26 and the show starts at 8:00 PM. During his NAMM performances, JEFF LOOMIS will be jamming with Keith Merrow on a song called "JamUp 'BRO'" which they wrote together and can be heard here. JEFF LOOMIS is proud to reveal his brand-new song, "A Liar's Chain." The song was recorded with his touring line-up consisting of young talents Joe Nurre (guitar and vocals), Anup Sastry (drums) and Greg Macklin (bass). Jeff comments: "A Liar's Chain is the first of three songs that I recorded with my band to officially debut online. We started playing it live on our last US run and it seemed to go over really well with fans. I had so much fun recording 'Surrender' with Ihsahn on vocals for my last solo album that I wanted to do more songs like that. Joe Nurre, who has been playing guitar in my band for the last year or so, has a pretty killer death metal voice, so I thought it would be perfect to do some more stuff like this with him as well as the rest of the guys. I'm really looking forward to getting over to Europe again. I have so much fun there. JEFF LOOMIS Begins Working on New Music; To Head Out with 7 EYES 7 HORNS This July, guitar wizard JEFF LOOMIS will head out on the "Intrinsic 2012" Tour. Presented by MetalSucks.net, the run will take JEFF LOOMIS throughout North America alongside THE CONTORTIONIST, CHIMP SPANNER and label-mates 7 HORNS 7 EYES. In addition, JEFF LOOMIS will play four headlining dates featuring 7 EYES 7 HORNS as direct support. A full list of dates can be seen below. Not only has JEFF LOOMIS been preparing for this tour, but he has also been working on new material. According to Joe Nurre, the touring guitarist and vocalist in Jeff Loomis' band, "Jeff and I have collaborated musically on two of the songs, and I have lyrics and vocals written for the three." Touring drummer Anup Sastry will be programming the drums, and producer Aaron Smith will be recording and mixing. While residing in Wisconsin as a teenager, the former Nevermore guitarist played in a few death metal bands, and with these tracks, Loomis is going back to his roots. "The vocals will be more aggressive and death metal-like," Nurre explains. There are plans to release the recordings digitally sometime in July, with samples of songs to be available beforehand. Nurre adds, "We will be playing some of these songs on our upcoming tour with The Contortionist. JEFF LOOMIS PREMIERES NEW SONG FEATURING IHSAHN JEFF LOOMIS has teamed up with Decibel Magazine to premiere his new song " Surrender" featuring IHSAHN of black metal band EMPORER. "Surrender" appears on the upcoming album, Plains Of Oblivion that will be out on April 10 in North America and April 9 in Europe. The track was featured on Full Metal Jackie's syndicated radio show this past weekend, and is now available on Decibel Magazine's Deciblog. "Surrender" can be heard here. JEFF LOOMIS is honored to have IHSAHN as a guest on the record: "At first I thought Christine Rhoades would be the only guest singer on the record, but then this one song started coming together, it's pretty brutal. I've always wanted to do really, really heavy music and after hearing this, both Aaron and myself thought we needed some crazy, sick singer on it. We just sat around tossing names out for a bit, nothing really was sticking and then Aaron says, 'I got it ... Ihsahn' and it was one of those moments where you knew that was the answer all along, it just hadn't been unlocked in your mind yet. Anyway, a few short emails back and forth and we had his vocal track in. It came out amazing. I can't wait for you to hear it. Ihsahn, thanks again, it's an honor to have you on my record."
